Thursday Relief Volunteer

Volunteers are vital to House of Friendship s mission of service to those in need. In fact, over 1,000 volunteers contribute almost 50,000 hours of volunteer time annually. Sunnydale Community Centre, is a program of House of Friendship and found in Waterloo. It is a bustling centre of the community providing programs for all ages. This is an opportunity to meet the wonderful neighbours and community of Sunnydale and assist in House of Friendship's work in building a community where all belong and thrive.

About this Opportunity

Completed applications due July 24th to dianab@houseoffriendship.org. Provide relief support for the Community Resource Coordinator at Sunnydale Community Centre on Thursday mornings. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work sensitively with diverse cultures. The candidate must be able to lift a minimum 25 lbs. Use of a car is helpful but not mandatory. Must be able to take initiative and work with little or no supervision. Need discretion and good judgement. Tasks: Organize Food Distribution Program Thursday morning (unloading food and setting up tables) Clean up after Food Distribution Program Welcome new visitors to the centre and assist as needed Data entry on Link2Feed Open centre at 8:30 a.m. and lock up centre at 4:30 p.m. Oversee reading program (schedule children, assist volunteers etc.)
